The Benefits of Natural
Health
Someone asked me years ago why I bother choosing natural
foods over chemically enhanced foods. My answer is simple:
natural foods work with the body. Even when ill, the body
has the ability to digest and assimilate natural products
more readily for good health, speeding wellness to you.
My experience with chemically enhanced foods has been that
my body eventually took some toll from regular consumption
of these foods. My definition of chemically enhanced foods
is they are foods that are manufactured, as opposed to natural,
such as fresh produce. Manufactured foods are found in the
center of the grocery store, in boxes, bottles, bags and
cans. Manufactured foods are permitted by the FDA to contain
chemicals for flavor enhancement and to preserve their shelf
life for better return on the grocer’s and producers
investments. The daily consumption of chemically enhanced
foods over long periods has been proven to be hazardous
to humans and unfortunately, animals. Remember Saccharin?
Red dye #3?
Everyone knows that the healthy dietary choice is simple
meals of small amounts of vegetable or animal protein, like
meat or tofu, and several servings of vegetables and good
clean water. However, we tend to drift from our healthy
patterns. Our problem is that we are creatures of habit,
and we include dietary indiscretions in our daily/weekly
meals.
With the advent of changing medical systems, more responsibility
is being returned to the consumer that requires common sense
choices, with selecting over-the-counter medicines, herbal
medicines and products for preventive health and minor conditions.
I caution the “newbie” purchaser of herbs and
supplements to gather factual data regarding the products
they plan to buy. Many herbs have been tested and proven
in clinical studies to have an effect on the body. You have
rights as a consumer to make inquiries, and to validate
any claims a manufacturer may make, or that you may learn
about their product. Call the company, and ask questions
in addition to your research, before making your purchase.
Herbs are food, and when taking herbal supplements your
body puts them to work without reservation. Herbs are culinary
and medicinal, sometimes at the same time. The simplicity
of herbal medicine has been in our culture since 2000 B.C.
It’s interesting to note that with the industrialization
of our world in the 1940’s when pharmaceutical medicine
became more commonly used, we abandoned the natural herbal
medicines.
Now that the cost and availability of both allopathic medicine
and pharmaceuticals are becoming prohibitive, we arrive
again at herbal medicine, and responsible self-care.
Like at the grocery store, your choices are about becoming
educated for the current and future health of yourself and
your family.
Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to counsel a client
regarding their pets’ food, and the pets’ current
health decline. After some searching through the dog’s
dietary history I discovered the pet was given several dog
chews daily. These chews were purchased in bulk, and are
preserved with chemicals for long-lasting shelf life in
the grocers and pet stores. The result of this pet consuming
these chews daily may possibly have been associated with
the reason for this pets’ health decline. The pet
is currently on a strict diet of healthy non-chemical dog
food, and live food treats with no chemical preservatives
or additives. The dog’s owner is certain the health
of the pooch is improving on a daily basis, and is looking
forward to new liver tests to further affirm her new health
practices with her pet are successful.
I can easily say when using my herbs, that I experience
positive effects, because I trust them.
My suggestion for you the reader, is to search for the “right
products” that work for you and build your own basis
of trust in them.
The benefits of natural health are the simpler the food
or products one chooses to use may be the kinder, gentler
approach to good health and wellness for the duration.
The Water Rule •
With so much attention on water these days it's important
to know how much water to drink daily to maintain hydration.
• Divide your body weight by ½ and
that number is the amount in ounces of water one “normally”
should take in on a daily basis. • Extraordinary
circumstances require more water, such as hot days.
• If you drink coffee, teas, or soft drinks,
you must replace these drinks with equal amounts of water
due to their dehydrating nature.
• When you exercise, replace your body’s water
with 8 ounces of water for every 20 minutes of exercise.
Thirty minutes of exercise replace with 12 ounces of water.
"Focus
on Formulas":
SlenderMax™
SlenderMax™ is designed to work with the newly health
conscious, naturally supplementing weight loss. Three keys
are important with the addition of SlenderMax™ to
your diet:
• Drink plenty of water.
• Eat 3 balanced meals daily.
• Make an effort to exercise every other day at least
30 minutes.
Dietary supplements used in conjunction with a healthy weight
loss plan can produce the desired results the dieter is
seeking. SlenderMax™ works with the 3 keys above to
re-educate the dieter’s body to a faster metabolism
free of chemical overstimulation, like so many products
on the shelf these days. Your body will learn again how
to be naturally stimulated by the food and water you will
be regularly giving it, and by the increased activity levels
you provide, both very necessary for your success.
The greater process to keep in mind is AFTER the diet is
completed, and your goal weight is attained. Focus on maintaining
your new weight for several months with healthy foods in
the same way as your previous diet plan. However when you
give yourself treats keep them to a “taste”
and structure them, such as: ice cream: use a tiny dish
and one spoonful of ice cream. You aren’t deprived
of the treats you deserve this way, and still enjoy the
wonderful body you knew you could have for a longer, healthier
life. |
